The summary above applies to every page of this website. The sections below explain what each point means in practice and why it matters when you are dealing with a legal problem in Nepal.
General informational purposes only
The procedure guides, legal code summaries, glossary, articles, FAQs and interactive tools on this site are published to help you understand how the law in Nepal generally works. They describe typical situations. Your situation may differ in ways that change the answer completely, such as the district where a property is located, the date a contract was signed or the specific wording of a notice you have received.
Not legal advice or a legal opinion
Legal advice is a professional's assessment of your particular facts against the law that applies to them. Nothing on this site, including results from the Legal Issue Finder, Document Checklist or Ask Legal Guide, constitutes such an assessment. Tool outputs are generated from general rules and the answers you provide; they do not verify your documents or check the current state of the law for your case.
Laws, fees and procedures change
Acts are amended, regulations are re-issued, government fees are revised in the annual Finance Act, and courts interpret provisions differently over time. We update content when we can, but a page may be out of date on the day you read it. Always confirm the current position with the relevant authority or an advocate before acting, especially where a deadline or a limitation period is involved.
Consult a qualified professional
Before signing a document, filing with a court or government office, responding to a notice or making a decision that affects your rights, speak to an advocate licensed by the Nepal Bar Council. If money, property, liberty or family relationships are at stake, the cost of a consultation is small compared with the cost of getting it wrong. You can book a consultation with one of our advisors or choose any other qualified professional.
No attorney-client relationship
Reading this site, submitting a form, sending an email or booking a consultation does not automatically make us your legal representative. We become your advocate only after a conflict check and a signed engagement letter. Until then we are not monitoring deadlines for you and cannot file anything on your behalf. Emergency matters such as an arrest or a court date within 48 hours should be raised by phone, not through the website.
Demonstration content
Legal texts, fees and timelines shown here are simplified demonstration content modelled on Nepal's legal framework. They are not verified official sources.
Pages containing such content carry a “Demonstration content” notice. Section numbers, wording, fee amounts and timelines are illustrative. For authoritative text, consult the Nepal Law Commission, the Nepal Gazette or the official publications of the relevant ministry.
Third-party links and resources
We link to government portals, courts and other organisations for convenience. We do not control or endorse those sites and are not responsible for their accuracy, availability or handling of your data. Links to a third party do not mean that party endorses us.
No guarantee of outcomes
Past results described in profiles, case notes or testimonials do not predict the outcome of any other matter. Every case depends on its own facts, evidence and the decision of the court or authority involved. Advisor ratings and reviews reflect the experience of individual clients and are not a promise of service quality or results for you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nepali law, we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on information published on this site. This does not limit our responsibility for work carried out under a signed engagement letter, which is governed by that letter, our Terms of Use and the applicable professional rules.
